Professional Development

FAU Pine Jog has a deep appreciation for teachers and the important role they play in educating our youth. Throughout the year, Pine Jog provides several professional development opportunities for teachers. Following are some of the opportunities offered during this past year:

Professional Development
  • Everglades Teacher Workshops (16 sessions-351 teachers)
  • Everglades Train the Trainer Workshop (one session-16 trainers)
  • Green School Teacher Workshops (eight workshops-74 participants)
  • Palm Beach County Teacher Summer Institutes (eight days-60 teachers)
  • School Backyard Inquiry Workshop with Herbert Broda (one-day 30 teachers)
  • Learn Green Conference Presentations by Staff (six presentations)

Our Summer Institutes

Grade K-2: A Four-Day Summer Institute and Grade 3-5: A Four-Day Summer Institute

These institutes will provide teachers with:

  • Hands-on science inquiry lessons that incorporate read-aloud literature
  • Strategies for integrating science and language arts literacy
  • Numerous books and materials to implement the lessons from the institute
