One of our "bright" green school students in action!

Earth Day Congratulations to Green Schools of 2020!

FAU Pine Jog is excited to announce a record 134 local schools have made the grade “going green” as participants in this year’s Green Schools Recognition Program (GSRP).

We congratulate the inspiring teachers, students, school leaders, and community partners at each of these visionary schools for all that they do to make EVERY day, Earth Day.

Stay tuned this May to learn which of these schools will go on to receive special 2020 Green Schools Awards!

Established in 2008, the GSRP recognizes Palm Beach and Martin County schools that strive to build a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainability in their classrooms, on their campuses, and throughout their communities.  Their green efforts include outdoor learning, campus gardens, recycling, energy and water conservation, interdisciplinary environmental curriculum, local habitat studies, green community service projects, healthy eating and fitness programs, and a school-wide commitment to sustainability.

Schools apply each year to earn recognition as Green Schools of Promise, Quality, or Excellence—and to become eligible for special awards sponsored by organizations throughout the community.

Special thanks to our partners at the School District of Palm Beach County and the Martin County School District for all they do to foster green learning and operations throughout our two counties, and the many community partners and volunteer judges that also make this program possible.
