Annie's Grants for Gardens

Amount: Up to $3,000
Funds are available for edible school garden projects.

Florida Agriculture in the Classroom Grants
Garden Grants & Teacher Grants: Postponed until Jan 1, 2021
Amount: $500
Florida Agriculture in the Classroom offers both school garden grants and teacher grants. Teacher Grants are available to general education teachers, kindergarten through 12th grade, and agricultural science teachers who would like to implement agriculture-related classroom or schoolyard projects.

Pets in the Classroom Grants
Open period: Aug 1 - June 1
Amount: Gift cards or rebates up to $125
Teachers can receive gift cards or rebates to help fund classroom pets.

Whole Kids Foundation School Garden Grant
Open period: Feb 15 - Mar 31
Amount: $3,000
Provides grants to K-12 schools and non-profits working with a K-12 schools to support new or existing edible gardens on school grounds.

The Bee Cause Project
On hold until Sept 2021
Amount: Equipment and/or monetary grants up to $1,500
Allows for K-12 schools or non-profit organizations to receive support for educational honey bee hive programs.

Captain Planet Foundation Grants
Cycle 1: Open Sept 15 - Jan 15
Cycle 2: Open March 15 - July 15
Amount: $500 to $2,500
Activities to be funded must be project-based, performed by youth, and have real environmental outcomes.

Association of American Educators Classroom Grant Application

These grants are provided to help fund classroom materials.

Toshiba America Foundation Grant, Grades K-5

Amount: $1,000
Grants are provided to fund project-based learning in science and mathematics in K-5 classrooms.

Toshiba America Foundation Grants, Grades 6-12
Deadline: Nov 1 & May 1 (requests over $5,000); Rolling deadline for requests under $5,000.
Grants are provided to fund project-based learning that make science and math more engaging in 6-12 classrooms.  See list of previously funded projects for examples.

Celebrate Urban Birds Mini Grants

Mini grants from Cornell Lab of Ornithology to help fund events involving the arts, gardening, community participation, and Celebrate Urban Birds citizen science projects. 

Walmart Foundation Community Grants

Amount: $250-$5,000
Areas of giving include Sustainability and Hunger Relief & Healthy Eating.  Schools applying should be in the service area of the Walmart store from which they are requesting funds.

Florida Wildflower Foundation "Seedlings for Schools" Grants

Amount: $50 worth of plants, classroom resources & professional guidance
Native wildflower garden projects and resources.

Alternative Fuel Foundation Grant Program
Deadline: Ongoing
Amount: Typically $250 to $500
Projects that will be favored for funding promote the concept and use of alternative fuels or sustainability.

Fruit Tree Planting Foundation "Fruit Tree 101" Grants
Deadline: Ongoing
Amount: Donation of trees (20+), materials, installation, and onsite curriculum.
Provides sustainable fruit tree orchards to public and nonprofit schools with suitable locations. 

Monarch Watch - Free Milkweeds for Schools
Deadline: Ongoing
Amount: Free flat of 32 milkweed plugs and guidance on creating/enhancing pollinator garden.
Sponsored by National Resource Defense Council to help schools conserve monarch butterflies by creating school habitats for monarchs and other pollinators. 

Youth Pollinator Gardens Grant

Amount: Up to $200
Sponsored by National Garden Clubs for schools working with local Garden Clubs for pollinator garden projects and/or educational materials teaching the vital importance of pollinators.
